Darjeeling to Pelling taxi questions

What is the taxi fare from Darjeeling to Pelling?

A sedan costs ₹4,500 and an SUV (Bolero or Sumo) costs ₹5,500, per car, one way. The fare includes the driver, fuel, tolls and parking.

How long does it take to drive from Darjeeling to Pelling?

About 3.5 to 4.5 hours for 75 km, depending on traffic, weather and road work.

Which car is best from Darjeeling to Pelling?

For 1 to 4 people with light luggage a sedan is enough. For 5 to 7 people, heavy luggage or monsoon travel, choose an SUV or Innova.

Can we stop on the way?

Yes. Short stops for tea, photos or meals are included. Detours to other sightseeing places cost extra; ask when booking.

Do I need a permit for Pelling?

Indian citizens do not need a permit for Pelling. Foreign nationals need a Sikkim permit before entering at Rangpo. Some higher areas such as Tsomgo Lake, Nathula and North Sikkim need separate permits.

Is the Darjeeling to Pelling fare per person or per car?

Per car. The whole car and driver are yours for the trip; the number of passengers only decides which car type fits.

Are toll and parking included?

Normal tolls and parking are included in the fare. Permits, entry tickets and detours not in the booking are extra unless your confirmation says otherwise.

Can I book a one-way cab from Darjeeling to Pelling?

Yes. One-way drops are the standard booking. You can also book the return trip (Pelling to Darjeeling) or a round trip with waiting.

Can I add sightseeing stops on the way?

Yes — add them when you book. Short tea, meal and photo stops are included; extra places or long waits can change the fare, and we confirm it before you pay.

Is night travel allowed?

Yes. Between 21:00 and 06:00 a night charge of ₹300 applies. On hill roads we may suggest an earlier start for comfort and safety.

Can we change the drop hotel?

Yes. Tell us before the trip; a change within the same town usually does not change the fare. A drop much further away is re-quoted before the trip.

How much luggage fits?

Sedans and hatchbacks take about two large bags, an Ertiga three, SUVs and Innovas four. On hill routes extra bags can go on a covered roof carrier. See the car guide for details.

Is payment required in advance?

No payment is needed to send a booking request. Once we confirm the car and fare, we may ask for a small advance (usually 20%); the rest is paid as written in your confirmation.
