Cabs to Nepal border
The main crossing from Siliguri into eastern Nepal is the Mechi bridge between Panitanki (India) and Kakarbhitta (Nepal), about an hour from Siliguri or NJP. Birtamod, Damak, Itahari, Dharan and Biratnagar lie beyond. Our standard service is a drop at the Indian side; travel further into Nepal is arranged only when it is confirmed in advance.

Before you go
- Indian citizens can enter Nepal with a passport or Voter ID; carry it in your hand luggage.
- Indian cars need Nepal customs (bhansar) papers to go beyond Kakarbhitta — that is why a border drop is the default.
- Nepal’s rules on carrying higher-value Indian notes have changed over time; check the current rule with your bank or hotel before you travel.
